My haircolor fades within a week of having it colored,
what can I do to prevent this?
There are several reasons why hair color fades.  The condition of your hair
before you have it colored has a lot to do with how long the hair color stays true.
If your hair is previously chemically treated with either hair color or perms it will
be more porous and the color will fade faster.  Naturally curly hair is also more
porous and won't hold color as well as straight hair.

Sun lovers find their hair color fades fast if they don't take precautions and
cover their hair when they're at the lake or pool or even in the tanning bed.  Salt
water and chlorinated pools will also fade your hair color.   Shampoo immediately
after swimming to remove salt and chlorine from your hair.

Using harsh shampoos will also fade your hair color.  Safeguard your hair color
investment by protecting your hair from the sun, salt water and chlorinated pool
water and use PureOlogy or Framesi Biogenol shampoos, conditioners and
styling products to maintain the condition and color of your hair.

How often should I get my hair colored?
Typically hair needs to be colored every 4-6 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows.
Highlights and lowlights are done about every 3 months.

I had my naturally brown hair colored a week ago and it's looking red, why?
Naturally dark hair will always appear "warmer" when it is colored.  This is true even if
you are only covering gray with your natural color, but especially true if you are
lightening your natural color even slightly.  All hair color increases the porosity of hair,
with increased porosity comes fading and with fading comes warm tones.

Using shampoos, conditioners and styling products designed for color treated hair will
help prevent fading and maintain your investment in your hair color.  Talk to your stylist
about adding ash tones to your color formula, this will help counteract warm tone
s.
